You went WHERE?!

Musings about our travel adventures wandering off beyond city boundaries or simply playing tourist in our own town.

AROUND LOS ANGELES:

Hollywood Bowl
For a MUSICAL and CULTURAL adventure, the 2017 Schedule was just released!

HB2017

Downtown
For a HISTORIC day, we visited: The Bradbury BuildingThe Hive Gallery, ate at Clifton’s Cafeteria and ended at The Last Bookstore (pictured).  last1stfl

Another time we submersed ourselves in the sights, sounds, and smells of the oldest Downtown street: Olvera Street.  Let’s be real, primarily the food with the most-recommended taquitos in Los Angeles at Cielito Lindo and dessert at Mr. Churro.

Long Beach
For an ARTISTIC adventure, we visited:  Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA). Though small, it had many beautiful exhibits across many mediums. Sundays are FREE!

Palos Verdes
For an OUTDOOR adventure, we love hiking along the trails at Terranea, usually stopping at Nelson’s to get a baked-to-order pretzel. One day, we went closer to the beach and hunted for sea caves!

Running Event
For a ROCKING OUTDOOR day with friends, try a Rock-n-roll running event!  Also available in other cities worldwide!

BEYOND THE COUNTY LINE – SAN FRANCISCO (in 32 hours – with kids!):
For a NEW ADVENTURE we took the super affordable and comfy red-eye Megabus landing us bright-eyed in San Francisco at 7am! After a quick hearty breakfast at my long-time fave Sears Fine Foods, we dropped our bags at the Hilton Union Square, and set off via Cable Car for an adventure at the Exploratorium! For dinner we went to The Stinking Rose followed by dessert at Gelateria Naia!  After that full day we slept in, got late brunch at Tarantino’s at the Pier then got lost in the Musée Mécanique for a few hours! We dashed into Ghiradelli’s because you HAVE TO when visiting San Fran! We returned home by bus, snacking on our treats from Rocket Fizz. Can’t wait to return!
